Recently, the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment jointly issued the "Regulations on the Classification of Judicial Appraisal of Environmental Damage".
The Regulations refine the seven categories of pollutants identification, air pollution, surface water and sediment, soil and groundwater, offshore marine and coastal zones, ecosystems and other environmental damage assessments into 47 practice categories, further identifying Institutions and appraisers practice the scope, standardize the practice activities, provide policy support for the standardization of environmental damage judicial appraisal institutions and appraisers, and strive to improve the standardization and scientific level of environmental damage judicial appraisal management.
The Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment recently jointly issued the "Regulations on the Classification of Judicial Appraisal of Environmental Damage", further clarifying the scope of practice of appraisal institutions and appraisers, and standardizing practice activities.
According to reports, the "Regulations" provide policy support for the standardized management of environmental damage judicial appraisal institutions and appraisers, and strive to improve the standardization and scientific level of environmental damage judicial identification management.
The "Regulations" are divided into eight chapters and 51 articles, which are identified from the nature of pollutants, air pollution environmental damage identification, surface water and sediment environmental damage identification, soil and groundwater environmental damage identification, coastal marine and coastal environmental damage identification, The seven categories of ecosystem environmental damage identification and other environmental damage identification have refined the practice classification of environmental damage judicial identification activities.
At the same time, the "Regulations" also defined and clarified key issues such as damage identification of ecosystem pollution, identification of animal and plant damage, human health damage within a certain scope, and identification of soil ecosystem damage caused by environmental pollution.
In the next step, the Ministry of Justice will urge local judicial administrative organs to strictly verify the categories of environmental damage judicial appraisal institutions and appraisers in accordance with the "Regulations", effectively strengthen the practice supervision, and continuously improve the level of judicial work on environmental damage management.
